Throw it over the windscreen when you park and there is nothing to scrape in the morning. Lift the cover off, the frost comes with it, and you drive away while everyone else is still standing in the cold with a plastic scraper.
Two ear flaps tuck inside the front doors so wind doesn't take it, and elastic loops hook over the wing mirrors to hold the sides down. The foil face works the other way round in summer too — leave it on in a car park and the cabin stays noticeably cooler.

Worth knowing
Check it against your windscreen. At 200 × 70 cm it is sold as a universal fit for hatchbacks, saloons and small to mid-size SUVs, and the supplier's listing shows a 4.9-star rating across 3,000 orders, which is good evidence that it fits ordinary cars. If you drive something unusually wide or tall, measure your screen first.
It is a lightweight foil cover, not a thick padded one. At 71 g it folds down to about the size of a paperback and lives in the door pocket — but it is not the heavy quilted type, so treat it as frost protection rather than insulation.
It covers the windscreen only. Side windows and the rear screen still need a scraper after a hard freeze.
